Andrea is a PhD candidate and part-time lecturer at the TU Dublin School of Media. Her research, which is funded by Research Ireland, focuses on social movements, collectives and popular music, with a particular focus on feminist organisation and identity. She worked for several years as a music and culture critic in Irish print publications and radio. She is an Irish Research Council Government of Ireland scholar. Her research is currently funded by the Irish Research Council.

Alongside teaching and researching, Andrea is a research assistant on the Live Music Mapping Project (LMMP) Dublin team.
