Biography
Nina is a researcher, musician and gardener originally from Munich. Since graduating from LIPA in 2018, she has completed an MA in Music Industry Studies and started her PhD on Gender Equality in the German Music Industry at the University of Liverpool in January 2023. As a member of several musical projects, Nina has signed record deals and toured nationally and internationally.
In the past year she has started working on several projects that engage with her research interests of fair treatment of artists, gender equality and feminism: a monthly radio show on Melodic Distraction, showcasing music by local women; she is a member of the F-List research hub; she co-founded Musicseen, a project releasing data on the local music scene, e.g. musicians in Liverpool, a yearly flyer on local women in music; she worked as EDI officer for WIMIN Festival; and she works as a research assistant on the LCR music sector map. She is also a teaching assistant at the University of Liverpool and a visiting lecturer at LIPA.
